I dropped the night
Into a watery sky.
And watched
it’s inky fingers spread.
Stains across the sun.
And smiled.
As I realised,
Silence was falling.
Broken only by the soft
Sighs,
Of those who missed
The light.
I dropped the night
Into a watery sky.
And watched
it’s inky fingers spread.
Stains across the sun.
And smiled.
As I realised,
Silence was falling.
Broken only by the soft
Sighs,
Of those who missed
The light.
One day.
I would like
You to start
A charity for me.
To keep alive
The memory,
Of all those
Who had plans,
But never quite
Got around
To doing what
They really
Wanted to do.
A little light
Just flicked on.
Small and blinking
In to my world.
Im sure in its
Orange stutter,
It wants to tell
Me something
Of great importance.
But sadly for us,
I just cannot
Translate its
Devoted panic.
Things are racing
Past me
Blurs that might be
Shapes of importance
Don’t wait around
For me to see
I miss you
And so many other
Things I used to know
Now you are all
Nicely coloured
Lines leading
Back to somewhere
I can’t go.
There is something
Just beyond my reach
Through the mist
And blanket rain
I can see the shape
Glimpses of a flicking
Shadow running
Just that one step
Ahead all the time
Taunting frustrating
Enough to keep me
Running with
Fingers stretched
Grasping
Reaching
Missing
