Grey sand spread
Far as no eye can see
Light had tried to fall
Gone before it met ground
Snared by the spreading
Shadow that allows no life
Reflecting nothing, heavy
Water kisses pale sand
Merging shades of still grey
Far as no eye can see

Interesting description of a world very unappealing…
The repetition of “far as no eye can see” suggests introspection, of how the writer feels; that life is currently difficult and colourless. When there is a new ray of light to bring colour and hope, it is snuffed out, like a candle without oxygen, leaving hopeless desolation which others can neither see, nor feel…
