Couldn’t Put Humpty Together Again

That sound.
The echo so loud,
So long it became
Its own new noise.
Tremors rippled deep,
Snaking through foundations,
That lazily relented.
Gave all away until,
The walls began
To fall with,
Relentless gravity.
Stone by rock,
All that was
Natural in you,
Lay buried and resting
In a dirty grave.
So expertly
Excavated.
By your own
Fair hand.
