Lonely Dance

The TV is on in the corner
Flashing light and dark
As the actors run through
Their now ghostly play
For perhaps a hundredth time
The audience just left
Without taking the time
To say the show was over
They could finally take a bow
Line after line they carry on
Each delivered with perfection
To the achingly empty room
