The Leaves Will Fall

Making his judgements
Whispering them only
To the fleeting wind
The old man watching
As the world passes by

Age grips him in winter
Now the summer dawns
Some youth is returning
To the old man watching
As the world passes by

He would have moved on
But he put down roots
Such a long time ago
The old man watching
As the world passes by

So many moments
Of life has he seen
More will play out
For the old weathered tree
Watching as the world passes by

  1. Really like this one; a simple story about the life of a tree, but so well illustrated, I can feel his whispering breath, offering sagely advice in my ear! Wonderful! 🙂
